Struct FinRollTerms

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub struct FinRollTerms { pub body_radius_m: f64, pub reference_diameter_m: f64, pub first_moment_m3: f64, pub second_moment_m4: f64, pub transonic_start: FinRoll, pub supersonic_start: FinRoll, }
Expand description

One fin’s roll terms on one body that don’t change with Mach (FinAero::roll_terms): its span moments about the axis and the ends of the transonic join, built once per fin set.

Fields (Non-exhaustive)§

This struct is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive structs could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive structs cannot be constructed in external crates using the traditional Struct { .. } syntax; cannot be matched against without a wildcard ..; and struct update syntax will not work.
§body_radius_m: f64

Radius of the body at the fins, m: where the strips start from the axis. For a fin on a pod, taken about the rocket’s axis, its root’s offset from that axis along its span.

§reference_diameter_m: f64

Reference diameter, m.

§first_moment_m3: f64

∫ξ dA, m³ (FinOutline::axis_moments).

§second_moment_m4: f64

∫ξ² dA, m⁴.

§transonic_start: FinRoll

The roll at Mach 0.8, where the join starts.

§supersonic_start: FinRoll

The roll at M_s, where linear theory starts.
