Struct Drag

Source
#[non_exhaustive]
pub struct Drag { pub zero_lift_coefficient: f64, pub axial_coefficient: f64, pub friction: f64, pub pressure: f64, pub base: f64, pub parasitic: f64, pub stated: f64, pub table: Option<Lookup>, }
Expand description

A rocket’s drag, or one component’s share of it, at a flow condition. Coefficients are on the reference area.

Fields (Non-exhaustive)§

This struct is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive structs could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive structs cannot be constructed in external crates using the traditional Struct { .. } syntax; cannot be matched against without a wildcard ..; and struct update syntax will not work.
§zero_lift_coefficient: f64

Zero-lift drag coefficient C_D0: the sum of the five parts, or an override table’s or a drag model’s value (crate::custom), when the five parts are zero.

§axial_coefficient: f64

Axial-force coefficient C_A = C_D0 f(α) (axial_drag_alpha_factor), along −z_B when the flow meets the nose.

§friction: f64

Skin friction (eq. 3.85).

§pressure: f64

Pressure drag of noses, shoulders, boattails, steps in radius and fins (eq. 3.86–3.93).

§base: f64

Base drag of the aft base (eq. 3.94).

§parasitic: f64

Parasitic drag of launch lugs and rail buttons (eq. 3.95–3.96).

§stated: f64

Drag coefficients stated in place of the parts’ own (hpr_design::DragOverride), each once per instance.

§table: Option<Lookup>

Set when an override table gave C_D0 (the five parts are then zero): the lookup, on the table’s own reference area, and whether it extrapolated.
